Annealed wire is a type of soft wire made from low-carbon steel wire through the process of annealing. The ductility of this type of wire is high while the tensile strength is lower than that of galvanized wire. Annealing is the best treatment process that changes the actual physical and chemical properties of the wire. This is what increases durability and ductility while at the same time making the wire easier to work with.
Black annealed wire (BAW): Oiled to avoid corrosion and rust.

- Mainly used in the construction industry as setting wire.
- It is also used in the packing industry as tie-wire.
- SAE 1006 or 1008 with anti-rust oil.
